ASD Consultancy

John provides consultancy for people with ASD of all ages, their families, carers or with professionals involved in treatment and support. Consultancy can be useful when developing support plans, and when evaluating and working effectively with particular behaviours and emotional or sensory issues. Levels of consultancy vary from as little as one hour/month to several hours/week, depending on the circumstances of the individual and their supports. Responsive or ad hoc consultancy can be arranged, if appropriate. Consultancy with families and staff teams can be arranged and has been considered helpful in providing guidance to individuals, families and support services.

Consultancy has received positive feedback, during 1-1 or group work with:

  • People experiencing behavioural or emotional difficulties, in various contexts, including home, education and work
  • People experiencing difficulties due to offending behaviour
  • Individuals and staff teams in hospitals or other care settings
  • Couples affected by ASD, in the context of a partner or marital relationship

Please note, consultancy can be arranged and agreed on a private basis, flexibly. John Forrester is contracted by several local authorities to engage in consultancy with people with autism and staff in social care and education sectors. He has been employed by the NHS for several years, to work directly with patients and the multidisciplinary teams involved.
